Antonio Cerdeira Pilão is a Marie Sk#322;odowska-Curie Fellow (UKRI guarantee) at Manchester Metropolitan University, affiliated with the research group Contemporary Intimacies, Sexualities and Genders (CISG). He is currently undertaking the project Families and Kinships in the Margins of the State: Consensual Non-Monogamies and Multiparenthood in the UK and Brazil (FAKIM-CNM). He holds a PhD in Human Sciences (Cultural Anthropology) and a masters degree in Sociology (with a concentration in Anthropology) from the Graduate Program in Sociology and Anthropology (PPGSA) at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), with a sandwich PhD period at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Spain). He earned his bachelors degree in Social Sciences from UFRJ and a teaching degree in Sociology from Universidade Candido Mendes (AVM-UCAM). He coordinates the research group Políticas, Afetos e Sexualidades Não-Monogâmicas (CNPq Directory) and is a member of the International Commission on Global Feminisms and Queer Politics of the International Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences (IUAES). He completed postdoctoral studies funded by FAPESP at the Graduate Program in Public Health at the University of São Paulo (USP), working with the Reproductive Health, Gender and Society research group, and by CNPq at the Graduate Program in Social Anthropology at USP, linked to the Center for Studies on Social Markers of Difference (NUMAS-USP) and the Center for the Anthropology of Law (NADIR-USP). He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Graduate Program in Social Sciences at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (PPGCSO-UFJF), as part of the research group Family, Emotions, Gender and Sexuality (FEGS-UFJF). In addition, he was a visiting researcher at the Institute on Inequalities in Global Health at the University of Southern California (USC). His research focuses on Anthropology and Urban Sociology, with an emphasis on gender and sexuality, family and kinship, sexual rights and policies, emotions, new conjugal arrangements, polyamory and non-monogamous relationships, ageing, youth, and generations.
