Carlos Eduardo Santos Moreira da Silva

I'm an undergraduate librarianship student with experience in cinema/audiovisual (independent filmmaker), and an interest in working in both segments. I'm currently studying at the School of Communications and Arts at the University of São Paulo, where I'm taking the 5th semester of the librarianship course, but I participate in audiovisual projects, such as independent short films. In 2022, I took the film course offered by "É Nóis na Fita" and made two short films. I'm taking part in a scientific initiation research project entitled "Collecting the terminological base of the Arquigrafia platform for the construction of a knowledge organization system (SOC) based on social indexing", funded by the São Paulo State Research Foundation (FAPESP), involving terminological control and folksonomy, on a digital platform called "Arquigrafia", a free-to-use social network that allows users to index images related to the field of Arts and Architecture autonomously. I have been running a series of free and academic courses in areas that go beyond the field of librarianship, related to the study of various languages (such as Russian, Korean and Chinese), cinema (such as the History of Brazilian Cinema and New British Cinema courses), Anthropology, among others. I recently presented my scientific initiation project at USP's International Symposium on Scientific Initiation (SIICUSP), and I intend to carry out a project at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Coimbra (Portugal), under the Research Internship Abroad (BEPE) program offered by FAPESP, proposing a project around the themes of Digital Humanities and Open Science in digital repositories as a way of continuing my Scientific Initiation project in the country, finding solutions to the problems faced in managing Arquigrafia, by carrying out a critical analysis of the methods used to process indexed and physical information relating to photographs in Portugal, as well as bringing together groups of researchers from both countries and establishing Arquigrafia as a Portuguese-Brazilian photographic repository.
