This project aims to introduce the student to the theory of Dynamical Systems through several examples. We will focus on the study of real and complex one-dimensional dynamical systems. We will carry out a study using both rigorous mathematical methods and numerical experiments. We will study basic concepts and later on an in-depth study of more recent results.(AU)
We will study interval exchange transformations and its generalizations. In particular we will study the phenomena of universality and rigidity in this setting. The concept of renormalization will play an important role. This project intends to introduce the student to the cutting edge of research. (AU)
