Environmental Engineer with a Master's and PhD in Atmospheric Sciences, and a specialization in Business Management. Since 2006, he has focused on carbon cycle research and the decarbonization of processes. He completed his Masters degree with a CAPES scholarship and his PhD with a CNPq scholarship, finishing first in the selection process.In 2021, his doctoral thesis was recognized with the USP Highlight Award and received an honorable mention from the University of São Paulo.He served as a Carbon Cycle Scientist at New Zealand's GNS Science, where he designed and implemented the greenhouse gas measurement network in Auckland for the CarbonWatch-NZ project, a network that has been proposed as a potential model for global use by the WMO (IG3IS).He has led and collaborated on numerous research projects related to the measurement and monitoring of greenhouse gases in urban environments and forest systems, working with leading institutions such as NASA, NOAA, Harvard University, the University of Leeds, Wageningen University, and others.A founding member of the global network YESS (Young Earth System Scientists), he returned to Brazil to contribute to the establishment of Latin Americas first urban atmospheric monitoring network in São Paulo, where he currently works as a postdoctoral researcher.
