Birthplace: Brazil

Postdoctoral researcher in Soil Science at the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture, University of São Paulo (ESALQ/USP, 2023-present), with a FAPESP fellowship linked to a thematic project focused on the spatial assessment of soil quality (soil health). Holds a Ph.D. (2017-2021) and an M.Sc. (2015-2017) in Agronomy, with an emphasis on Soil, Water, and Environmental Quality, from the University of Brasília (UnB), both supported by CAPES scholarships. His master's dissertation was nominated for the CAPES Thesis Award (2018), and his doctoral thesis received an honorable mention from the UnB Graduate Award (2022). Specialist in Geotechnologies from the School of Surveying Engineering of Bahia (EEEMBA, 2014-2015) and holds a B.Sc. in Agronomic Engineering from the State University of Southwest Bahia (UESB, 20082013), during which he volunteered at the university's Soil Microbiology Laboratory. Currently develops research on the relationships between soil, territory, and technology, with a focus on Pedology, Geosciences, and Spatial Statistics. Works on soil mapping using geotechnologies such as remote sensing (optical and radar), reflectance spectroscopy (field, lab, and satellite), and predictive modeling with machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms. Applies geoprocessing and programming tools in R, Python, and JavaScript (Google Earth Engine) for environmental data analysis and decision support. Promotes the sustainable use of soil and water, with emphasis on natural resource conservation, through lectures, training courses, and outreach activities. Participates in national and international scientific networks dedicated to soil research. Co-founded the Geoprocessing and Pedomorphogeology Research Group (GeoPed, UnB) and is a member of GeoCiS and the Soil Laboratory at ESALQ/USP, where he develops and validates methodologies for soil survey and classification in different regions of Brazil. Serves as a reviewer for high-impact journals such as Geoderma (Elsevier), Remote Sensing (MDPI), and Earth Science Informatics (Springer Nature), focusing on Soil Science, Geosciences, and Environmental Sciences. In the public sector, holds a permanent position as a Data Processing Technician and has held trusted roles at the Municipal Department of Agriculture and Environment of PlanaltoBA, serving as coordinator and technical advisor (agronomist). Led projects in technical assistance, rural extension, environmental education, land regularization, and technology transfer.
