Birthplace: Brazil

Postdoctoral researcher in Soil Science, funded by FAPESP as part of a thematic project at ESALQ/USP focused on mapping soil quality across Brazil. Holds a PhD (20172021) and MSc (20152017) in Agronomy (with an emphasis on Soil, Water, and Environmental Quality) from the University of Brasília (UnB), both supported by CAPES scholarships. His masters dissertation was nominated for the CAPES Thesis Award (2018), and his doctoral thesis received honorable mention in the UnB Graduate Award (2022). He also holds a specialization in Geotechnologies from EEEMBA and a bachelors degree in Agronomic Engineering from UESB.His work focuses on the relationship between soil, landscape, and technology, with expertise in Pedology, Geosciences, and Spatial Statistics. He conducts research in digital soil mapping using remote sensing techniques (optical and radar), reflectance spectroscopy (field, laboratory, and orbital), and predictive modeling with machine learning algorithms. He is skilled in geospatial analysis and environmental data processing, using tools such as R, Python, and JavaScript (Google Earth Engine). His research contributes to sustainable land and water use, with a strong emphasis on the conservation of natural resources. He participated in applied research projects at the GeoPed group (UnB), focused on tropical environments, and is currently part of the GeoCiS group (ESALQ/USP), where he collaborates in developing and validating methodologies for soil survey and classification across various Brazilian biomes. He is an active member of national and international research networks in soil science and related fields. He serves as a peer reviewer for high-impact scientific journals, including Geoderma (Elsevier), Remote Sensing (MDPI), and Earth Science Informatics (Springer Nature), reviewing studies on pedometrics and remote sensing applied to soil science. In the public sector, he worked as a permanent staff member at the Municipal Secretariat of Agriculture and Environment, leading projects in technical assistance, rural extension, environmental education, and land regularization. He also has experience in agronomic and environmental consulting, judicial expertise, and technical reporting. He is certified to perform georeferencing of rural properties and is accredited by INCRA. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
