Luiza Witzel Farias is a PhD Candidate in International Relations at the University of São Paulo and at the King's College London. She is a researcher at the Centre for Research and Practice in International Law (NPPDI-UFSM) and at the Centre for Studies and Research on Sanitary Law (CEPEDISA-USP). She also holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in International Relations from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). Luiza has received scholarships from the Coordination of Superior Level Staff Improvement (CAPES/Brazil). Nowadays, she holds a scholarship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP/São Paulo). She is a member of the Brazilian team of the international research project "Social mobilization as policymaking lever? A trans-Atlantic COVID-19 dialogue on community action and decentralized governance (SMAPL)", funded by FAPESP via Trans-Atlantic Platform in Social Sciences and Humanities (T-AP). Her current research topic is philanthrocapitalism and community responses to health emergencies in the Global South. Previously, she has studied topics related to international health cooperation in Latin America and decoloniality. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
