Graduate and Master's degree in Physics from the Gleb Wataghin Physics Institute at Universidade Estadual de Campinas - UNICAMP, respectively in 1985 and 1989. Ph.D. in Electric Engineering from Faculdade de Engenharia Elétrica e de Computação (1996), UNICAMP. Worked in various science and technology institutions, in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, and supervision of students. This is the case of CEFET/PR,Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR) and the Instituto Militar de Engenharia (IME). Worked at Optiwave Corporation Inc., Ottawa-Canada, developing software products for the design of amplifiers and optical systems. She is currently Associate Professor IV in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo. She was Director of Technological Innovation, the UFES Technological Innovation Center (2018-2020). He chaired the Brazilian Society of Microwaves and Optoelectronics - SBMO for two consecutive terms (2016-2020). She was a member of CNPq's CA-EE (2021-2024). She is currently Head of the Cooperation Agreements Division of the International Office - SRI at UFES. She has worked on the modeling and practical implementation of fiber optic devices, including optical amplifiers; plasmonic effect; fiber sensors; fiber nonlinearities; application of devices in communication systems; smart and sustainable cities, and more recently started to work with integrated photonics.
