Postdoctoral fellow at the School of Communications and Arts at USP. Worked as a Senior Researcher at the Brazilian Cinematheque in 2023, within the Nitrates Project. Holds a PhD in Communication from PPGCOM-UFMG (2021), in the research line Pragmatics of the Image. His dissertation investigated the modes of working through Cambodia's traumatic past in four films by director Rithy Panh, focusing on the cinematic procedures of testimony and the use of archives. He completed a sandwich PhD internship at Université Paris 1 (France), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sylvie Lindeperg, researching the use of archival footage in historical documentaries, and at the American University of Phnom Penh (Cambodia), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Theresa de Langis, researching Khmer Rouge propaganda films revisited by Rithy Panh. Holds a Master's degree in Communication from PPGCOM-UFJF (2013) and a Bachelor's degree in Social Communication from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (2009). Completed a Film Directing course at the Darcy Ribeiro Film School (2010). His practice as an artist and filmmaker focuses on documentary, fiction, and video art. He has held two solo exhibitions: the video installations Espelhos do Tempo in Juiz de Fora - MG (2014) and Vaso de Ozu in Belo Horizonte - MG (2018). His academic research focuses on images, with an emphasis on aesthetic experience and the engagement demanded from the viewer.
