Dr. Giorgio Picanço, commonly known as G.A.S. Picanço, serves as a postdoctoral researcher at the Research and Development Institute (IPD) of the University of Vale do Paraíba (UNIVAP). He obtained his Bachelor's degrees in Geophysics and Earth Sciences in 2016, both from the Federal University of Western Pará (UFOPA). Subsequently, he earned his Master's degree in 2019 and his Doctorate in 2023 in Space Geophysics from the National Institute for Space Research (INPE). He actively collaborates with research groups at the following institutions: INPE (Brazil), UNLP (Argentina), UANL (Mexico), and GFZ (Germany), aiming to conduct studies on topics such as Ionospheric Physics, Space Weather, Enhancement of Observation Techniques, Plasma Bubbles, Magnetic Storms, among others. In 2018, he was honored with the Roberto Manzano Prize, awarded biennially by the Latin American Association of Space Geophysics (ALAGE). He received an Honorable Mention in the Best Master's Dissertation Award from the Brazilian Geophysical Society (2019). With numerous authorships and co-authorships, he has published approximately 30 articles and 35 abstracts in Proceedings of Events. He was recognized as the Top Downloaded Author in Space Weather by the American Geophysical Union (AGU) in 2020. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
