Rafael Sidônio Gibson Gomes

Currently, I am pursuing a degree in Medicine at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA). I graduated in Geophysics from the same institution in 2018, with my thesis titled: "Theoretical and Experimental Analysis of Ultrasonic Waves Propagation on Synthetic Sandstone with Spherical Heterogeneities."I participated in a research group at the Experimental Neuropathology Laboratory of the João de Barros Barreto University Hospital as a scientific initiation scholarship holder. In 2022, I joined the Health Education Tutorial Program (PET-Health), where I performed practical activities in women's health, specifically in prenatal care.Also in 2022, I was a volunteer scholarship holder in the Institutional Volunteer Scientific Initiation Program (PIVIC), developing a research project on the external validation of a predictive model of L-dopa-induced dyskinesia in Parkinson's disease.In 2023 and currently, I am a scholarship holder in the Institutional Program of Scientific Initiation Scholarships (PIBIC-CNPq), conducting research titled: "Geographic Diversity and Ancestry Analysis in a Genetic Study on Parkinson's Disease in Pará."In 2024, I participated in a short-term internship at the Laboratory of Genetics and Molecular Cardiology at the Heart Institute of USP (InCor-SP) for two months, where I had the opportunity to study various rare diseases caused by mutations affecting the heart.
