Bachelor in Mathematics from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1981), Master from Instituto Nacional de Matemática Pura e Aplicada-IMPA (1982) and PhD from Instituto Nacional de Matemática Pura e Aplicada-IMPA (1986). Currently he is Full Professor of USP, Ribeirão Preto. He has experience in Mathematics, focusing on Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations, acting on the following subjects: conservation laws, asymptotic behavior, homogenization, initial-boundary value problems, entropy solutions and degenerate parabolic equations, equations of fluid dynamics, stochastic nonlinear partial differential equations.
