João Henrique da Costa Silva

He holds a bachelor's and master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE, 2004; 2006) and a PhD in Physiology from the University of São Paulo - Ribeirão Preto (2010). He completed a postdoctoral internship (2017/2018) at the CarMeN Laboratory: Cardiovascular, Metabolic, Diabetic Nutrition (INSERM U1060 / Univ.Lyon1 / INRA 1397) and is a Teacher / Guest Scholar at the University Claude Bernard Lyon 1 - UCBL1, in Lyon, France. He is currently Associate Professor IV at UFPE, a permanent member of the Postgraduate Programs in Nutrition (grade 5 - UFPE/Recife), in Physiological Sciences (Multicenter - CAV, grade 5) and in Nutrition, Physical Activity and Phenotypic Plasticity (grade 4 - UFPE/Vitória de Sto Antão). He has experience in the areas of Nutrition, Physiology and Pharmacology, with emphasis on cardio-respiratory and metabolic control, prognosis and markers of severity in diseases, working mainly on the following topics: nutritional manipulation, pharmacotherapy, physiological development of organs and systems, and nutrition-induced cardio-metabolic diseases.
