Tiago Belintani

I hold a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Araraquara (2012), a master's degree in Biosciences and Biotechnology Applied to Pharmacy with an emphasis in Parasitology from São Paulo State University (UNESP, 2016), and a Ph.D. in Animal Biology from the Institute of Biology at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP).I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Araraquara (UNESP/FCFAR) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. João Aristeu da Rosa (2023). Currently, I am a FAPESP-funded postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Zoology and Ecology, Institute of Biosciences, São Paulo State University (UNESP), Rio Claro campus, working under the guidance of Prof. Dr. José Paulo Leite Guadanucci.My research focuses on the evolutionary biology of recent lineages, with an emphasis on phylogenomics, molecular systematics, geometric morphometrics, and comparative morphology. I primarily work with model groups such as Triatominae (Hemiptera, Reduviidae) and Theraphosidae (Araneae)I have developed strong expertise in bioinformatics applied to evolutionary biology, including RNA-Seq analyses, processing of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, and orthology inference.Currently, I am conducting a research internship abroad (BEPE/FAPESP) at the Department of Entomology, Plant Pathology, and Nematology, University of Idaho (USA), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Chris Hamilton, where I apply phylogenomic approaches to investigate the evolutionary history of New World tarantulas.
