Abstract
The generation of urban solid waste (USW) in Brazil significantly increased between 2010 and 2019, rising from 66.7 to 79.1 million tons annually. In the state of São Paulo, this increase was even higher, with USW generation increasing from 18.8 to 23.1 million tons.
