Ana Gabriela Delgado Bieber

I have a Bachelor degree in Biology from the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE - 2004), a master in Plant Biology from the same university (UFPE- 2006), a doctor degree in Ecology from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp - 2012), and a Biology teaching degree (Facuminas - 2023). Since January 2024, I am a teacher at Instituto Federal da Bahia (IFBA), Campus Irecê, responsible for courses on Biology and Methods in Scientific Research. Previously, between the years 2013 to 2023, I worked either as a temporary undergrad instructor or as scientific collaborator at the Universidade Estadual do Sudoeste da Bahia (UESB), campus Itapetinga, where I have taught classes on Botany, Ecology, Conservation Biology and Invertebrate Zoology, and participated as advisor or co-advisor in some undergrad and master thesis. My main research interests are grouped into three themes: ant diversity, ant-plant interactions and effects of anthropogenic disturbances on the ant fauna. My field experience is mainly concentrated at two brazilian biomes, the Atlantic forest and the Caatinga. I authored scientific articles, book chapters and other works published in annals of scientific meetings, besides acting as reviewer for some Brazilian, as well as international, journals. In the recent years, I have also worked on the organizing committee of some events of science and arts, with emphasis on the organization of the "14th SNCT of IFBA Irecê". (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
