Rafael Roefero Marques da Silva

Undergraduate in Biological Sciences at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar - Campus São Carlos). He is interested in evolutionary biology, especially in speciation, comparative genomics and evolution of complex and developmental traits. He has experience in the use of several bioinformatics tools associated with phylogenomics and molecular evolution. He has experience in the use of tools for complexity assessment based on informational entropy and computational modeling, previously working with ecological processes associated with the formation and evolution of island ecosystems (FAPESP 23/16496-7). He is a member of the Research Group on Complex Environmental Systems (CompPlex), working on the research line "Complexity at different levels of biological organization", and the Laboratory of Population Genetics and Evolution (LaBEv-UFSCar), where he is currently developing research on molecular evolution and phylogenetic signal of genes associated with taxonomic characters in fruit flies of the genus Anastrepha (Diptera, Tephritidae). He is President, during the year 2025, of the XVII Organizing Committee of the Academic Week of Biology UFSCar - São Carlos, of which he was Vice-President in 2024. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
