Eliakim Ferreira Oliveira holds a bachelor's, licentiate's and master's degree in Philosophy from USP's Philosophy Department and a degree in Portuguese and Linguistics from the Linguistics Department of USP's Faculty of Letters. He studied Classical German Philosophy, with an emphasis on Kant. In the master's program of the Philosophy Department of USP, between 2020 and 2023, under the guidance of Maurício Cardoso Keinert, he studied the unity between the cognitive and aesthetic aspects of imagination in Kant's 'First' and 'Third Critiques', focusing on the concepts of schema and schematism (CAPES). He has also undertaken research into the notion of research strategy, having already published a paper on Hugh Lacey's philosophy of science and taught a course on the conception of the relationship between value and scientific activity in Ernan McMullin, Helen Longino, Philip Kitcher and Hugh Lacey. Under the guidance of Pablo Rubén Mariconda (Department of Philosophy at USP) and the co-supervision of Paulo Chagas de Souza (Department of Linguistics at USP), in 2024 she began her doctoral research in philosophy of science with a focus on linguistic sciences. This research looks at linguistics from the point of view of its historical development throughout the 20th century (especially the conflict between generative grammar and cognitive linguistics), using schemes for evaluating scientific practices from the philosophy and historiography of science, namely the notions of style of thought/scientific reasoning and research strategy. This research is funded by FAPESP. In addition to philosophy and linguistics, she is also dedicated to literary production and literary criticism, having already published books of poetry, short stories and chronicles and a book on the poetry of João Cabral de Melo Neto.
