Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP). Faculdade de Odontologia de Piracicaba (FOP)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

I am a Dentist, with a technical background in Chemistry from ETECAP (2012), a degree in Dentistry from the Piracicaba Dental School UNICAMP (2017), a Masters (2020) and PhD (2024) in Dentistry, with a concentration in Cariology, from the same institution. During my undergraduate studies, I conducted research at the Oral Biochemistry Laboratory of FOP-UNICAMP (20142017), focusing on carbohydrate metabolism, fluoride and calcium release, and physicochemical properties of the dental biofilm. In my Master's program, I investigated fluoride release from dentifrices as an indicator of their in vitro bioavailability. During my PhD, I developed research on enzymatic degradation of extracellular polysaccharides as a strategy for controlling cariogenic biofilms. I completed a sandwich PhD internship (20222023) at the Institute of Oral Biology, University of Oslo, Norway, focusing on the relationship between sucrose-induced exopolysaccharides and antimicrobial resistance in oral biofilms.Since 2024, I have been working as a postdoctoral researcher at FOP-UNICAMP, developing a project on the efficacy of pH-activated nanocarrier-based drugs for caries prevention, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Marlise Klein. In the same year, I began contributing as a participating professor in the Graduate Program in Orofacial Biology at UNICAMP, engaging in co-supervision, thesis committees, and graduate-level teaching.I completed internships at the Institute of Physics of São Carlos USP (2022 and 2023), focusing on cloning, expression, and purification of proteins, enzymatic characterization, and biochemical assays. I served as a teaching assistant (PED Program UNICAMP) for the disciplines Cariology I, II, III, and Biochemistry II (20192021), supporting practical classes, student mentoring, and exam supervision. I was the graduate student representative from 2018 to 2024, participating in academic councils and promoting scientific outreach through institutional social media.I participated in outreach and science communication projects related to the prevention of biofilm-related diseases, with emphasis on antimicrobial resistance and health education. I received awards for presentations at national and international scientific events. I have experience in oral microbiology, antimicrobial resistance, biofilm models (in vitro, in situ, and ex vivo), enzymology, nanotechnology, and pH-responsive drug delivery systems.I have technical expertise in DNA/RNA isolation, gene cloning and expression, enzyme purification and characterization, biochemical and microbiological assays, metagenomics, metatranscriptomics, and resistome analysis. I use GraphPad Prism, SPSS, and Python for data analysis. I am a native Portuguese speaker, fluent in English (with international research experience), and have intermediate proficiency in French.
