Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Centro de Biologia Marinha (CEBIMAR)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

He holds a degree in Full Licentiate in Biology (2000-2002) and a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences with an emphasis on Marine Biology (2000-2003), both from Universidade Santa Cecília (UNISANTA). During his undergraduate studies, he was recognized as the best student of the XIV Class of Biological Sciences. He worked in the area of Biological Oceanography, focusing on Renewable Fishery Resources (Demersal Fish, Fishery Biology, and Marine Fish Reproduction), participating in the National Program for the Evaluation of the Sustainable Potential of Living Resources of the Exclusive Economic Zone, in the Regional Subcommittee of the Southeast-South Coast (REVIZEE Program, Southeast-South Score), at the Oceanographic Institute of the University of São Paulo (IO-USP), where he conducted Scientific Initiation activities (2001-2003) (CNPq) and completed his Graduation Thesis. He earned his Master's (2005-2007) (CNPq) and Doctorate (2007-2011) (FAPESP) degrees in General Physiology from the Institute of Biosciences of the University of São Paulo (IB-USP), with a doctoral internship at the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), Argentina (October 2009 to March 2010). Subsequently, he completed four postdoctoral fellowships: at the Department of Physiology of IB-USP (2011-2014 (FAPESP) and 2015-2017 (CAPES)), at the Department of Biodiversity and Experimental Biology, Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences (FCEyN) at UBA, Argentina (2014-2015) (CONICET), and at the Aquaculture Center of Universidade Estadual Paulista (CAUNESP) (2017-2018) (CAPES). From 2019 to 2023, he served as a Collaborating Researcher at the Marine Biology Center of USP (CEBIMar/USP) with support from the FAPESP Young Investigator Award in Emerging Centers program. He is currently a Collaborating Researcher at the Department of Physiology at IB-USP (2024-present). His main areas of expertise include Comparative Physiology, with an emphasis on Neuroendocrinology and Reproductive Endocrinology of teleost fish. His notable research focuses on reproductive physiology (brain-pituitary-gonadal axis), conservation of endangered species, and reproductive and metabolic physiology applied to tropical fish aquaculture. He also works in the field of Aquaculture, with a specialization in marine and freshwater fish farming, addressing topics such as reproductive behavior, sexual differentiation, induced reproduction, and larval development. Additionally, he has experience in the morphology of recent groups (morphophysiology of gametogenesis, endocrine glands, and the nervous system of fish), Ecotoxicology (effects of pollutants on fish physiology and behavior), fish diversity and ecology, and fishery biology of species from the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Southeast-South coast of Brazil. Accredited as a permanent faculty member in the Graduate Program in Aquaculture and Sustainable Development (PGADS) at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), with participation in the program's governing board. He is the coordinator of the Laboratory of Aquaculture and Marine Ecophysiology (@laquefim). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
