Iara Bastos de Andrade

Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Universidade Unigranrio (2015 - 2017) and completed a curricular internship program at the Mycology Laboratory - Mycological Diagnostic Sector at FIOCRUZ (2016-2018). During this period, she gained experience in Medical Mycology, focusing on the identification of pathogenic fungi using conventional techniques, biochemical analysis (Vitek 2), micromorphological analysis, and molecular techniques. Completed a Masters degree in Clinical Research of Infectious Diseases at the Instituto Nacional de Infectologia Evandro Chagas - FIOCRUZ (2018 - 2020), with a project focused on analyzing the different virulence phenotypes of clinical isolates from the Trichosporonaceae family. Doctorate in Sciences from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), with research that assessed the effects of immunosuppressive drugs on the virulence factors of clinically significant yeasts.Currently engaged in a postdoctoral fellowship at UNIFESP as part of the Institute of Antimicrobial Resistance of São Paulo (ARIES) project, focusing on the analysis of virulence factors and escape mechanisms of *Candida parapsilosis* from four distinct outbreaks in Brazil.
