Scientist specialized in the field of combustion and propulsion, working in optical diagnostics. I have experience in the development and implementation of optical techniques such as schlieren, shadowgraphy, spectroscopy, laser-induced fluorescence (LIF), particle image velocimetry (PIV), and Rayleigh scattering. My expertise encompasses the study of multiphase flows, flame behavior, plasma dynamics, and applications in shock tunnels. I stand out in the technological innovation of scramjet engines for hypersonic vehicles and in the development of bipropellant engines for rockets and PPT engines for CubeSats.Currently, my work is focused on the development of more efficient and less polluting combustion systems, aiming to mitigate the effects of global warming. The main areas of focus include: oxy-combustion, ammonia and hydrogen combustion, sprays and atomization of biofuels and alcohol, in addition to the development of green propellants for aerospace applications. My work has been recognized both nationally and internationally through prestigious awards: i) the Best Doctoral Thesis Award in Physics in the area of Optics and Photonics, granted by the Brazilian Society of Physics; ii) Honorable Mention in the Engineering III area at the CAPES Thesis Award; iii) the Grand Prize at the Silk Road International Symposium on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, and Applications of Energy Chemicals, in China; and iv) the Gold Medal at the Edmund Optics Educational Award, in the United States.
