PhD in International and Comparative Education, with a focus on public policy formulation. Specifically, I study how historically constructed stereotypes about public school children influence the formulation and implementation of educational policies. Additionally, I analyze how Paulo Freire and Darcy Ribeiro addressed these stereotypes in their public policies. With an emphasis on Political Science/Policy Sciences, my research themes include the history of Brazilian education, the feminization of the teaching profession, the education of women and girls, education and development, and education in the Global South, with a special focus on Brazil and Latin America. Although I primarily work with qualitative methods, I also have experience with quantitative methods.I hold a PhD in International and Comparative Education from Columbia University, an MPhil in International and Comparative Education from Columbia University, a Master's in International Relations from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), and a Bachelor's in International Relations from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). I also have a specialization in Educational Management from Ibmec-SP. I have been working in the academic field for over 15 years, having held positions in coordination, mentorship, and tutoring in educational institutions in Brazil and the USA.
