Birthplace: Brazil

Graduated in Physical and Biomolecular Sciences from the University of São Paulo, she works on the planning and development of new drugs, using computational techniques such as molecular modeling and in vitro evaluation. Her research focuses on neglected tropical diseases, including Chagas disease and visceral leishmaniasis, as well as research into cytotoxic therapies for cancer. Among her projects, highlights include the evaluation of compounds active against Leishmania and Trypanosoma strains, and the identification of inhibitors of cruzain, an enzyme essential for Trypanosoma cruzi.
