José Jailton Marques holds a degree in Chemical Engineering by the Federal University of Sergipe (1991), a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering by the State University of Campinas (1994) and a PhD in Chemical Engineering also by the State University of Campinas (2003). He was a professor at Tiradentes University (Aracaju, Sergipe) from 1996 to 2006, having worked as a professor of Differential and Integral Calculus in Architecture and Urbanism courses, Computer Science and Data Processing; he also taught General and Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Water and Effluent Treatment in the Pharmacy course; he was one of the creators of the course of Environmental Engineering of this University, in which he taught the subjects Differential and Integral Calculus, Introduction to Environmental Engineering, Unitary Operations, Effluent Treatment and Environmental Engineering Projects; was also one of the founders of the Institute of Technology and Research (ITP), linked to Tiradentes University. He participated in the implementation of the Environmental Studies Laboratory (LEA), of which he was the coordinator and member of the team that implemented ISO 17025 for accreditation by INMETRO. He is currently Associate Professor II at the Department of Environmental Engineering of the Federal University of Sergipe, where he was a lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering and has taught Applied Thermodynamics, Liquid Effluent Treatment, Ecology and Pollution Control, Special Topics in the Environment, Special Topics in Chemical Processes, Petroleum Regulation and Legislation, Environmental Control in the Petroleum Industry, besides having been coordinator of Supervised Internship. He participated in the creation of the Multidisciplinary Human Resources Training Program in the Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels Area (PRH ANP-45), of which he was coordinator from 2010 to 2013. He has experience in: pollution prevention and control, thermodynamics, separation techniques, conventional and advanced techniques for the treatment of water and industrial and sanitary effluents, and has performed in several consulting projects in the following areas: pollution control, effluent treatment, simulation of dispersion of pollutants in the environment and evaluation of environmental impacts, environmental sanitation with emphasis on public cleaning and solid waste management; also has experience in quality in chemical analysis.
