Eduardo Augusto Costa is Professor at the School of Architecture and Urbanism and Design of the University of São Paulo - FAUUSP. He is a member of the Department of History and Aesthetics of Design and a member of the Graduate Programme in Design and the Graduate Programme in Architecture and Urbanism. He holds a degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the State University of Campinas (2004), a Master's degree in History from the State University of Campinas (2009) and a Doctorate in History from the State University of Campinas (2015). He is currently the Didactic Coordinator of the FAUUSP Library (since 2023). He is one of the coordinators of the Design, History, Matter and Memory Laboratory (DHMM), which he co-founded in 2024, and from which he is developing the Environmental History of Design project (2024). Since 2020, he is a member of the research group Archives, sources and narratives: between city, architecture and design. He is also coordinator of the ANPUH national working group on image, visual culture and history (2023-2025). He is an associate researcher in the Thematic Project (FAPESP) Digital Collections and Research: Art, Architecture and Technology (since 2023), as well as in the Multiuser Equipment Project (FAPESP): Acquisition of Equipment for the Installation of the USP Heritage Science Centre (2023) and the Surfacing Design Archives Project, a partnership between the University of Brighton and the University of São Paulo (2024). Between 2018 and 2022, he coordinated the research project (FAPESP/Young Researcher) Visual Culture and Intellectual History: architectural archives and collections. He was also vice-coordinator of the Design Course between 2022 and 2024. He has experience in the fields of design, architecture and urbanism, with a focus on historiography, working mainly on the following topics: history and historiography, environmental history, visual culture, heritage and archives.
