He is an Associate Professor at UFBA - Federal University of Bahia, Brazil. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil, 2012; and a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of São Paulo, 2008. He conducted postdoctoral research at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil, 2020. He serves as TPC in national and international conferences and is a reviewer for various peer-reviewed journals and magazines. At the university, he has participated in and coordinated several projects funded by FAPESP, FAPESB, MCTIC, CAPES, CNPq, and UFBA. He is a member of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC). He was a visiting professor at the University of Toronto, Canada (2023-2024). He conducted scientific missions at Technische Universität Dresden, Germany (2023), Politecnico di Milano, Italy (2023), University of Central Florida, United States (2022); and at the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science, University of Waterloo, Canada (2020). His main research interests are related to Cloud and Fog Computing, Urban Computing, Ad hoc Vehicular Networks, Smart Grids, and Performance Evaluation.
