Birthplace: Brazil

Has a degree in Biological Sciences, both in Teaching and Bachelor, from São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2005/2006). Completed their Master's (2008) and Ph.D. (2012) in Genetics, studying the genetic variability and evolution of the Hepatitis C virus (HCV). During the Ph.D., worked as a visiting researcher at Saint Louis University - St. Louis - MO - USA. As a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Genomic Studies Laboratory of UNESP - IBILCE, participated in various projects, with a primary focus on the study of arboviruses. During the COVID-19 pandemic, was involved in conducting molecular diagnostic tests for SARS-CoV-2 and research projects related to this virus, including genomic surveillance in the Corona-ômica Network (BR/MCTI). Served as the junior vice-president of the Brazilian Society of Virology (2021-2022). Currently, as a Research Associate at the Nussenzweig Laboratory at Rockefeller University (NY-USA), is working on projects investigating various aspects of the HIV reservoir.
