She is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Nursing of the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), in the Department of Maternal and Child Nursing, working in the area of Child Health in both the Undergraduate and Graduate Nursing Programs.She holds a Bachelor's and a Teaching Degree in Nursing from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar, 2004 PIBIC/CNPq scholarship holder);a Masters degree in Nursing from UFSCar (2010 FAPESP scholarship holder);and a Ph.D. from the Ribeirão Preto School of Nursing, University of São Paulo (EERP-USP, 2014 FAPESP scholarship holder).She completed a Sandwich Ph.D. (BEPE-FAPESP scholarship) at the School of Nursing, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), from June to December 2012.Her research focuses on children with chronic conditions and their families, with an emphasis on symptom management and quality of life.
