He is a researcher at the Institute for Advanced Studies (IEAv), professor at the Postgraduate Program in Space Sciences and Technologies at the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA) and professor at the Postgraduate Program at REDEMAT - Thematic Network in Materials Engineering at the University Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP). He is specialized in physical metallurgy and industrial applications of lasers, working mainly on the topics: laser welding, surface treatments, additive manufacturing and nanotechnology.
