G. J. Silva Junior has a bachelors in Agronomy (2006), and a Masters degree in Plant Pathology (2008) from the Federal University of Viçosa. PhD in Plant Pathology from the University of São Paulo (ESALQ-USP) in 2011. Since 2010, he has been a researcher at Fund for Citrus Protection (Fundecitrus) in Brazil, focused on Epidemiology and Management of Fungal Diseases. At the same institution, he has also been the coordinator of the Masters subjects Citrus diseases caused by fungi and Technological advances in the management of citrus diseases and pests. Currently, he was nominated as the vice-coordinator of the Fundecitrus Masters Program, and as a Professor/Advisor of the Plant Pathology Program of ESALQ-USP. He has published articles in scientific journals, technical publications in magazines, books, chapters, handbooks, and he has given lectures and courses to citrus growers.
