Graduated in Dentistry from the University of São Paulo in 1992, Master' science - University of São Paulo - 1996, Doctorate (PhD) from the University of São Paulo - 2000 and Associate Professor at the University of São Paulo - 2009, always in the area of Periodontics. He had a full academic career at USP, his Research activitie in Periodontology: Periodontal Diseases, Periodontal Medicine (diabetes), Periodontal Aesthetics, and is currently dedicating to research in the area of Implants/Bone Regeneration. Vice-Dean of the School of Dentistry at USP (2021-2025). Full Professor, he was Head of the Department of Stomatology (Oct/2015-Sep/2019); Responsible for the Periodontics Discipline, Full Member of the FOUSP board of directors. Vice-president of the FOUSP Undergraduate Committee (2018-2021). Coordinator of the Course Organizing Committee (CoC) at FOUSP (2019 - 2021). In the extension area, he is Coordinator of the Specialization Course in Implants at FUNDECTO / FO. Editor-in-Chief of the Journal "Brazilian Oral Research" (2014-2019). He was President of the Brazilian Society of Dental Research-SBPqO (2010-2012) and President of the Brazilian Society of Periodontology-SOBRAPE (2008- 2010). Member of the Council of Experts of the Osteology Foundation (2018-2024). Founder and President of the Latin Oral Health Association (LAOHA) (2016-2020). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
