PhD in Cinema at the Graduate Program in Audiovisual Media and Processes (PPGMPA) at the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo (ECA-USP), researching first-person documentaries. Holds a master's degree in Cinema from the same Graduate Program (PPGMPA). Graduated in Audiovisual from the same University (CTR-ECA-USP, 2013), conducting undergraduate research on documentary photographic practice (FAPESP, 2009-2010). Served as a research fellow for the UNITWIN Cooperation Network for Integration in Latin America (Unesco Memorial Chair) (08/2021 to 12/2021). Conducted part of the doctoral research with a CAPES-PRInt sandwich scholarship at Nagoya University (Japan, 2022). In addition to being a researcher, he works as a filmmaker under the name Marcos Yoshi. Directed the short films "Aurora" (2010), "When the Sky Hits the Ground (2012), "In Her Care" (2020), and the feature-length documentary "Welcome Back, Farewell" (2021), developed concurrently with the master's research, commercially released in cinemas in 2023.
