Fernanda Luisa Basei

Fernanda holds a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (2005) and Master degree in Pharmacology (2008) from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and PhD in Biochemistry from University of Campinas (UNICAMP) (2014). Fernanda has experience in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and Pharmacology. She was an undergraduate student at Laboratory of Human Cytogenetic where works in a project involving cytogenetic for diagnostic of leukaemias. Her Master degree was developed at Experimental Pharmacology Laboratory (UFSC) working mainly on the study of Bradykinin B1 receptor signalling pathways and inflammatory process. Fernanda phD was developed at Brazilian Biosciences National Laboratory (LNBio - CNPEM) working with the characterization of human proteins Nek4 and Nek11, its expression profile and its interaction partners. Besides, Fernanda stayed for 1 month at the Structural Genomics Consortium of the University of Oxford (United Kingdom) and 3 months at Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB) (Spain), where performed structural genomics studies of human Neks proteins and the Nek4 role in the mitochondria, respectively. Fernanda was a Post-doctoral fellow at IRB-Barcelona where works at Nek4 mitochondrial role and its interaction with Mitofusins. She has experience with teaching at University of State of Santa Catarina (UDESC). She was a Post-doctoral fellow at LNBio and worked at the project: Human On a Chip, mainly for the development of alternatives assays for skin sensitization tests. Currently she is performing Post doctorate at UNICAMP studying the role of Mitofusins and Nek4 proteins interaction on the mitochondria- nucleus signaling after cellular stress.
