She has a PhD and Master's degree in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) and a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar). She is currently a Researcher (Pq-C) at the Center for Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering (CBMEG/UNICAMP) and a collaborating professor in the Graduate Program in Genetics and Molecular Biology (PPG-GBM/UNICAMP - Conceito CAPES 7). Participates in different research projects and supervises undergraduate and graduate students. She works in the area of #8203;#8203;genetics and molecular biology, currently with an emphasis on microorganisms, with experience in population genetics and genomics, molecular ecology, evolution and phylogeography. She also serves as Assistant Director of the Advanced Second Generation Biofuels Laboratory (A2G), an international collaboration project that aims to establish a new paradigm for the sustainable production of bioethanol from sugar cane and energy cane, involving the use of genetically modified anaerobic thermophilic bacteria.
