Agricultural engineer by the University of São Paulo (ESALQ/USP) (2002-2006), Master of Science (2007-2009, CNPq fellowship) and DSc. (2009-2011, FAPESP fellowship) by the University of São Paulo (CENA/USP). Currently working as a Professor at CENA/USP, being responsible for the LIARE laboratory (Food Irradiation and Radioentomology Laboratory). Performed part of the MSc. project in the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at Seibersdorf- Austria (2008), and part of the doctoral project in the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA-ARS) and the Comisión Panamá-Estados Unidos para la Erradicación y Prevención del Gusano Barredor del Ganado (COPEG) at Panamá (2011). Speaks three languages. Has experience in the Sterile Insect Technique, biological control of insect pests, food defense, food irradiation, and the application of nuclear techniques in agriculture and livestock.
