He holds a degree in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, a Master's degree in Biosciences Applied to Pharmacy, and a PhD in Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Ribeirão Preto (USP). He is currently a faculty member of the Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nutrition programs at the University of Ribeirão Preto (Unaerp), working in teaching, research, and university extension.He is responsible for the disciplines of Clinical Microbiology, Immunology, Aggression, and Molecular Biology, coordinates a research line focused on tracking antimicrobial resistance, and leads extension projects in the areas of public health and health education.
