Miklos Maximiliano Bajay is professor at State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC), Brazil and the leader of Genomic Research Group. Director of the UDESC Bioinformatics lab. Graduated in Biological Sciences from the State University of Campinas. He received his PhD and master in Genetics and Plant Breeding at University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. Specialization in MBA in Agribusiness and School Management. Research Scientist on population genetic resources, , High-throughput sequencing, genomics, metagenomics and molecular breeding of plant and animal species. Permanent member of the Multicenter Graduate Program in the field of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (PMBqBM/UDESC) and collaborating professor in the Graduate Program in Animal Science (PPGZOO/UDESC). His research interests are directed towards understanding the genome diversity of tropical species. He has published over 60 scientific papers in international journals. He holds 2 academic awards, as follows: "Professor Pedro Valentim Marques" best advisor in the MBA course in Agribusiness and "Maria Beatriz Perecin" Award for Scientific Initiation.
