I am graduated in Biological Sciences in the University of São Paulo in Ribeirão Preto (2001), Masters degree and PhD in Psychobiology at the department of Psycology of the University of São Paulo (2004 and 2008, respectively). I have been working as a post doc at the Department of Physiology in the School of Medicine in the University of São Paulo and I received training in whole cell Patch Clamp technique in vivo at the Department of Neurosciences in Erasmus Medical School in Rotterdam. I am interested in experimental models of epilepsy with emphasis in neuronal excitability, synaptic plasticity and identification of novel neuronal targets for epilepsy treatment. I worked as a principal investigator in the Department of Physiology where I coordinated a project that analyzed the alterations in primay auditory circuits in rats and mice susceptible to audiogenic seizures (WAR strain). More recently I worked as an associate researcher at the Department of Neuroscience and Experimental Therapeutics in Albany Medical College from the New York State University.
