Graduated in Chemistry from the State University of Goiás, with a master's and doctorate in Analytical Chemistry from the State University of Campinas, and a post-doctorate at the Center for Nuclear Energy in Agriculture (CENA/USP), with external research conducted at the National University of Rosario (AR). Prof. Jez became a Full Professor at the Institute of Chemistry, University of Brasília (UnB), in 2025. He has extensive teaching and research experience, with a focus on chemometrics and forensic chemistry. His work primarily encompasses the following areas: analysis of forensic samples (e.g., drugs, documents, beverages, wood, explosives, fuels, medications, food), first- and second-order multivariate calibration, determination of figures of merit, validation, multivariate curve resolution, separation techniques using HPLC, and spectroscopic methods (UV-VIS, IR, NIR, and molecular fluorescence).
