Emily Caroline da Silva is a professor at the Department of Modern Literature at the University of São Paulo (USP). She has a doctorate and master's degree in Languages from the postgraduate program Foreign Languages and Translation (LETRA) at FFLCH-USP, under the guidance of professor. Eliane Lousada. Between 2018-2019, she completed a doctorate semester at the University of Geneva, under the guidance of professor. Ecaterina Bulea-Bronckart, with CAPES/PDSE scholarship. Her research area comprises applied linguistics and teacher training for teaching work with foreign languages. She has a specialization in "Didactic-pedagogical processes for distance learning courses". She graduated in 2011 with a bachelor's degree and in 2012 with a educator degree, with specialization in Portuguese and French, at USP, and in 2020 in Pedagogy. She is a member of the research groups ALTER-AGE / CNPq and E-labore / CNPq.On a professional level, she taught language improvement courses in French for teachers at the Language Studies Centers (CEL) in the public school system in the state of SP. She held teacher training workshops at the invitation of UEL, UFV, UFPR, USP, University of Toronto, APFESP and École Québec. She was a tutor (facilitator) in undergraduate courses at UNIVESP. In 2012, she was an assistant professor at the University of Guelph, Canada, teaching Portuguese for Foreigners and French as a Foreign Language. In the 2010-2011 school year, she worked for the French Ministry of National Education as a Portuguese language assistant in the city of Bourges, linked to the Académie d'Orléans-Tours, "Centre" region of France.
