She holds a degree in Biological Sciences (Bachelors and Teaching Licensure) from the Institute of Biosciences at São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP) and a Masters degree in Geosciences and the Environment from the Institute of Geosciences and Exact Sciences at UNESP. She earned a Ph.D. in Animal Biology from the Institute of Biology at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), with a research exchange period at the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom. Currently, she is a FAPERJ Nota 10 Postdoctoral Researcher at the Faculty of Oceanography at Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ). She is a member of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC), the Brazilian Society of Ecotoxicology (ECOTOX-BRASIL), and the editorial board of Ecotoxicology and Environmental Contamination. She was a Professor at the Carlos Chagas Filho Institute of Biophysics at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), specializing in Environmental Biophysics, Biodiversity, and Environmental Contamination. Her research expertise lies in the fields of Aquatic Ecotoxicology and Environmental Chemistry, with a focus on the following areas: analysis of inorganic and organic contaminants; development of methods for contaminant determination in various environmental matrices; contaminant interactions with biota and effect assessment; ecotoxicological models; and environmental monitoring.
