Anna Carolina Gressler Bressan

I am a biologist with a master's and a doctorate in Biological Sciences (Plant Biology) from UNESP, Rio Claro campus. My academic and professional trajectory is centered on Botany, with an emphasis on Ecophysiology, Morphology, and Plant Anatomy. I investigate the responses of native Cerrado species to different environmental conditions, with a particular interest in plant-soil interactions. Throughout my career, I have conducted research on the distribution patterns of congeneric species in natural environments and assessed the physiological, morphological, and anatomical responses of plants exposed to different aluminum concentrations, both in natural soils and controlled greenhouse experiments. I have teaching experience in higher education, having served as a substitute professor for the course "Physiology of Metabolism and Transport in Plants" at UNESP, Rio Claro (2015). In 2021, I completed my teaching degree in Biological Sciences and, the following year, taught at both elementary and high school levels in São Paulo's state education system. From 2022 to 2024, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of São Paulo (USP), investigating the effects of fire management on the dynamics of plant communities in campos rupestres ecosystems. Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher at UNICAMP, where I study the diversity of fungal communities associated with the roots of native Cerrado plants, including arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and dark-septate endophytic fungi. Additionally, I investigate the role of these fungal communities in plant adaptation to acidic, aluminum-rich soils. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
