Forestry engineer (1979) and MsC in forest science (1986) by Universidade de São Paulo (1979), and PhD at Botany from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1994). Pos-doc in Phytogeography of Cerrado at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, Scotland. At present is a researcher and member of the Scientific Council of the Instituto de Pesquisas Ambientais of São Paulo state, and associate Professor in postgraduate courses of Forest Science (UNESP-Botucatu) and Ecology (UNICAMP). Member of the Editorial Board of the international journals Restoration Ecology, Journal of Ecology and Applied Vegetation Science. Founding member of the Brazilian Society for Ecological Restoration - SOBRE. My researches have been focused on Ecology, Conservation and Restoration of Cerrado and Atlantic Forest. Included among the Top Ecology and Evolution Scientists in Brazil in 2022 (ranked by the platform, #53) and finalist for the Ester Sabino Award for Women Scientists of the State of SP (2022).
