Birthplace: Brazil

I hold a degree in Marine Biology and Coastal Management from UNESP, where I began my scientific career studying crustacean behavior as a FAPESP research fellow. Subsequently, I pursued my Masters and Ph.D. in Marine Ecology at UFPR, investigating the functional diversity of benthic invertebrate communities in coastal systems. During my doctoral studies, I participated in a dual-degree program at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. After completing my Ph.D. in 2017, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Universidad Católica del Norte in Chile, where I analyzed marine biodiversity in the southeastern Pacific Ocean. This project resulted in several publications and provided me with teaching experience and opportunities to mentor graduate students. In 2020, I moved to Salvador, Bahia, to join a project at UFBA focused on monitoring the impacts of an oil spill. In 2022, I moved to Turku, Finland, to work as a researcher at Åbo Akademi University, studying the impact of heatwaves on Vibrio bacterial populations in the Baltic Sea. In 2024, I returned to Pontal do Paraná, Brazil, to conduct a postdoctoral project at the Laboratory of Ecology and Conservation of the Center for Marine Studies (UFPR), investigating the trophic ecology of marine megafauna. My main research interests include the ecology of coastal systems, biodiversity, and community ecology. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
