Birthplace: Brazil

Filipe Gudin holds a degree in Biology from the University of São Paulo (2011), as well as a Masters (2014) and Ph.D. (2021) in Zoology from the same institution. Part of his academic training was carried out at the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle (Paris, France) and the National Museum of Natural History (Washington, D.C., USA). His research focuses on the evolution and diversification of parasitism in different lineages of parasitic flies (Diptera), integrating natural history data, museum collections, and molecular data through the use of phylogenetic systematics, taxonomy, and comparative genomics. He is currently conducting his third postdoctoral project at the Museum of Zoology of the University of São Paulo, aiming to investigate the evolution of oviposition strategies and host use in parasitic flies, with potential applications in conservative biological control programs. He also has experience in teaching and scientific communication, promoting the popularization of concepts in Entomology and Scientific Illustration. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
