Thiago Alves de Queiroz

Graduated in Computer Science from the Federal University of Goiás (2007), with an internship period at the International Center for Investigation of Computational Methods - CONICET in Santa Fé - Argentina (2007), Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Uberlândia (2008 ) and PhD in Computer Science from the Institute of Computing, State University of Campinas (2010). He did a postdoctoral degree at the University of Campinas (2014), University of São Paulo (2017) and University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (2019). Since 2016 he has been Associate Editor of the journal Pesquisa Operacional para o Desenvolvimento (ISSN: 1984-3534), which is maintained by the Sociedade de Pesquisa Operacional. In 2017 he was awarded a Productivity and Research grant, level 2, from CNPq. In the 1st semester of 2021 and in the 2nd semester of 2022, he was Visiting Professor at the Department of Sciences and Methods for Engineering at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Institute of Mathematics and Technology of the Federal University of Catalão, created by the dismemberment of the Federal University of Goiás-Regional Catalão. He has been Director of Research at the Federal University of Catalão since 2020, being responsible for the university's research activities, including the entire Initiation Program for Scientific, Technological and Innovation Research. Has experience in the field of Operations Research, especially in the area of Combinatorial Optimization, coordinating and participating in national and international research projects, as well as working on static, dynamic and stochastic versions of cutting and packing problems, vehicle routing, scheduling of tasks, location of facilities and their integrations. Its results have answered open questions raised by the specialized literature, being published in quality conferences and journals, in addition to having received numerous awards for its works and from students guided in undergraduate and graduate courses.
