Mary Aizawa Kato

Graduated in English at Universidade de São Paulo (1957), M.A. in English from Universidade de São Paulo (1969), Ph.D. in Linguistics from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (1972). Presently she is is a retired full professor , and voluntary colaborator at UNICAMP. She diid post-doctotoral studies at Harvard, London School of Educatio, U.of Hamburg. UCLA, USC, U of Maryland and NYU.She has experience in Linguistics, acting on the following subjects: Portuguese syntax, Romance syntax, Diachronic Linguistics and Language acquisition. She was the founder of the journal DELTA. She has supervised 28 PH.D.s and 40 MAs in linguistics. She had a CNPq grant in research for more than 20years and is presently a CNPQ Senior researcher.
