Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz (ESALQ)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

PhD and MSc from the Graduate Program in Animal Science and Pastures at USP/ESALQ in 2018 and 2010, respectively, and Agricultural Engineer from the same institution in 2007. His doctoral dissertation was recognized as a highlight at ESALQ in 2018 and received an Honorable Mention in the 2019 CAPES Thesis Award in the field of Animal Science/Fishery Resources. One of the papers derived from his thesis received the Professor Geraldo Gonçalves Carneiro Award, granted by the Brazilian Society of Animal Science for the best scientific article published in 2018. He completed postdoctoral research at Agrosavia (COL), where he led the "Latin America Methane Project" (LRG-GRAAGG), and at the Noble Research Institute, where he was responsible for the project "Metrics, Management, and Monitoring: An Investigation of Pasture and Rangeland Soil Health and its Drivers." He also has experience in the multinational industry, having worked for four years in the development of crop protection products. Currently, he is Assistant Professor at ESALQ/USP, and his research focuses on animal science, with an emphasis on the interactions among plant-animal-soil-atmosphere in pasture-based ecosystems towards optimizing forage and animal production through both pasture and grazing management. His interests also include ways to alleviate the impact of livestock on environment aiming at reducing GHG emissions, increasing soil carbon sequestration, and additional ecosystem services delivered by pasture-based systems.
