PRESENTATION: Leonardo Ferreira Almada is Professor of Philosophy (Associate IV Level) at the Institute of Philosophy of the Federal University of Uberlândia (IFILO-UFU, Uberlândia-MG) and the Graduate Program in Philosophy (Doctorate and Master's) of the Federal University of Uberlândia (POSFIL-UFU, Uberlândia-MG). RESEARCH: His general research interests revolve around the Philosophy and Psychology of Development (Psychology of Old Age and Aging) from the perspectives of Psychoanalysis and Historical-Cultural Psychology. He is the leader-coordinator of the "Research Project Philosophy/Psychology of Old Age and Aging from the Perspectives of Psychoanalysis and Historical-Cultural Psychology," registered with the Research Directorate (DIRPE-UFU) of the Dean of Research and Graduate Studies (PROPP-UFU) of the Federal University of Uberlândia, under registration number DIRPE/PSFE N 005/2025. EDUCATION (UNDERGRADUATE DEGREES, MASTER'S, DOCTORATE, AND POST-DOCTORATES): He holds a Bachelor's Degree (1999-2002) in Philosophy from the Institute of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (IFCS-UFRJ), having defended, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Luiz Alberto Cerqueira, a Final Course Monograph titled "Farias Brito Contemporary of Husserl." He is an undergraduate student (2022-) in Psychology at the Federal University of Uberlândia (IP-UFU), developing, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rodrigo Sanches Peres, research titled "Aging in introductory books to Developmental Psychology." He performs a Professional Internship (Emphasis: Clinical/Social Psychology) at the Long-Term Care Facility for the Elderly (ILPI) "Casa de Repouso Residencial Melhor Idade," with a workload of 600 hours. He holds a Master's in Philosophy (2003-2005) from the Graduate Program in Philosophy of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (PPGF-UFRJ), having defended, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Luiz Alberto Cerqueira, a Master's Dissertation titled "Ontological Meaning of Evil in Saint Augustine." He holds a Doctorate in Philosophy (2006-2009) from the Graduate Program in Philosophy of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (PPGF-UFRJ), having defended, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Luiz Alberto Cerqueira, a Doctoral Thesis titled "The Idea of Philosophy as a Science of the Spirit in Brazil." He completed 3 Periods of Post-Doctoral Research: (i) 2009-2011, at São Paulo State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (UNESP, Botucatu-SP), under the Supervision of Prof. Dr. Alfredo Pereira Junior, with research titled "The Proposal of an Affective Neuroscience: an Epistemological Analysis of the Taxonomy of Human Emotions Elaborated by Jaak Panksepp"; (ii) 2016-2017, at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG, Goiânia-GO), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. André Porto, with research titled "The Organism as the Foundation of the Conscious Mind: Relations of Integration and Interaction between Brain, Own Body, and Environment"; (iii) 2022-2023, at the University of São Paulo (USP, São Paulo-SP), under the Supervision of Prof. Dr. Osvaldo Frota Pessoa Junior, with research titled "The Organism as the Foundation of the Conscious Mind: an Embodied and Emergentist Perspective for the Problem of Consciousness-Mind-Brain-Body-Environment Relations.
